1973 年「長流畫廊」創立於臺灣臺北。1989年起發行「長流藝聞月刊」，每月定期出刊，此外並出版精美圖書、繪畫教學錄影帶…等，建立各式藝文推廣渠道。2003年後擴大轉型，陸續於臺北、桃園兩處建立美術館。長流主要創辦人黃承志，乃臺灣重要前輩畫家黃鷗波之子，本身亦為當代權威書畫鑒定家兼收藏家，藏品以華人古今藝術珍玩最為豐富，尤有諸多中國歷代大師珍貴作品，臺灣前輩藝術家之經典傑作亦頗為可觀，並以其獨到的藝術目光及品味，領導長流從事研究鑒定與推廣等專業顧問服務。長流美術館迄今所舉辦的藝文活動數不勝數，與諸多藝術家、收藏家、拍賣公司等交遊良好，多次提供館藏於海內外各展覽、博覽會開展文化活動，成為臺灣藝術產業的重要樞紐。
2007年因應藝術品交易的市場需求設立拍賣公司，並在2017年成立長流大中華文教藝術基金會，開拓出美術館、藝術市場、基金會相互協作的產業規模。同年12月，經手作品《齊白石 山水十二條屏》亮相拍場，一舉刷新中國藝術市場的拍賣紀錄，成為全球最貴的中國藝術品。2019年底挺進中國西部，組織重慶長流藝術，在數字藝術藏品（NFT）、數字藝術教育、藝術資產管理、以及公益活動等方面重點耕耘，營造蓬勃的美術環境。又於2021年成立了長流書畫研究中心，團結協作兩岸三地，面向國際，促使學者專家、美術館、藝術家、收藏家等產官學界人士的深度交往合作，以作為繼承與發揚中華文化藝術的交流中心。
