MAĀT is a contemporary art gallery and artist residency located in Le Marais district in Paris, founded in February 2023 by Paul William. Although MAĀT is working with a diverse range of international artists, it has a close tie with Western African artists. The gallery is composed of two spaces: a two floors exhibition venue and a studio hosting artist residencies. The exhibition space notably includes a corner dedicated to emerging and confirmed photographers. Far from the traditional white cube approach, MAĀT aims to be a warm space of exchange and dialogue open to all audiences. Itinerant, MAĀT intends to defend and promote its artists around the world through outside-the-walls projects and collaborations with foreign galleries.
